Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine has filed suit against Rover Pipeline LLC for polluting waterways with illegal discharges in nine Ohio counties, according to The Columbus Dispatch.
DeWine’s office filed the complaint in Stark County Common Pleas County in Canton on behalf of the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency. The lawsuit claims that environmental and clean-water laws were violated when the pipeline discharged millions of gallons of drilling fluids and sediment-laden stormwater.
The action claims Rover has failed to comply with orders from the EPA and asks that the company apply for state permits and pay $10,000 a day for each violation.
