Royal Dutch Shell’s ethane “cracker” plant will need as many as 6,000 construction workers to complete the project in Beaver County, Pennsylvania, according to ShaleOhio. The rash of increased demand will likely strain the local construction industry.

The construction industry will also see increased demand from other firms putting up stakes around the plant, as well as, from other projects throughout the region across a variety of industries.

To prepare for the workload, the construction industry is working to train new apprentices quickly.
