Advance Power recently announced that its 700-megawatt Carroll County Energy plant near Carrollton, Ohio, is operating and has the capacity to generate enough electricity to serve 750,000 homes, according to the Steubenville Herald-Star.
The plant was originally announced in 2013 and secured $899 million in financing by 2015 to begin construction. It is operated by EthosEnergy and employs 22 workers.
Advance Power is also planning to build a $1.1 billion gas-powered electric plant just north of Wellsville. The 1,150-megawatt facility, known as South Field Energy, will be capable of providing electricity to more than a million homes.
